Announcement Press Conference of FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix – Hong Kong 2011 presented by Watsons

HONG KONG, May 19, 2011:
Volleyball Association of Hong Kong, China once again presents the FIVB World Grand Prix – HK in the Hong Kong Coliseum which will be held from August 19– 21 this year. 
 The press conference began with speeches by VIPs, TVB artists then reveal the four participating teams of the HK Leg, and it was concluded with a kick off ceremony.

Mr. Victor Hui, GBS, JP, President of VBAHK said ” This tournament is one of the most prestigious international volleyball events. The number of participating teams has increased from 12 to 16 teams and from 9 legs to 12 legs this year. This marks a new milestone for the tournament and shows that the growing popularity and status of the competition. 
We are happy to once again have Watsons to be our naming sponsor. On top of this, this year’s tournament is one of celebration events of the 60th Anniversary of the Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China. We believe the event will be a great success.”

HK Pool highlights the competition between China, Dominican Republic, Kazakhstan and Poland before the finales in Macau, China from 24 – 28 August. Bronze medalist of the Guangzhou Asian Game 2010, Kazakhstan will continue to challenge other teams. With the home court advantage, China new coach YU Juemin will seek to regain the championship and consolidate the young team. Poland, after China in World’s ranking will try to improve their 6th place result of last year.

Once again, VBAHK and the naming sponcer “Watsons” will join hands in organizing a series of promotional activities. This will include the new “Care and Love Campaign of the China Team”, “My Favourite Player” voting, and the ever popular “Mini Soft Volleyball Competition” in shopping malls.
